creative connections

arkadi zaides is a world traveler. a youthful zaides made aliyah from belarus in 1990 and, over the last decade, his talents as an eye-catching dancer and cutting-edge choreographer led him on a series of foreign tours. so, perhaps it's not surprising that back in israel, zaides is focusing his creative energies on bringing worlds together through dance.

a way

about a way

zaides and his co-creator itay weiser created a very special dance in white costumes by dalia lider, accompanied by precise and excellent lighting by jackie shemesh.
the movement in the piece is extremely personal, deriving from the dancers, each with his own personality and in search of a way from the inner to the outer. there is no story, but rather an individual existential situation, albeit portrayed by a group, or in the background.

solo siento

about solo siento

the biggest discovery for me this time is arkadi zaides’ “solo siento”. arkadi was impressive also with batsheva ensemble’s piece “a way” last year. “solo siento” is filled up with strange lyricism. it is not eye-catchy movement but he has a special talent and sense to let his body talk, which is exactly what i call “good quality”.
