riff cohen was born in israel in 1984. she finished her musicology studies at the university of tel aviv in 2005. lives in tel aviv, works as a composer, singer, and songwriter.

at the age of six, riff began her stage arts studies at the art school of tel aviv, first acting and later on, pursued music as both a pianist and a singer. her studies include five years of voice training, one year of classic Indian voice and 11 years of classical piano training. since the age of eight, riff has been composing and singing her own songs and poems.
 

from 2001 to present, riff is collaborating with asaf korman in the creation of original visual and musical performance, with ‘givol choir’, performing original and contemporary pieces composed by the choir's own members, as well as traditional choral songs. that same year she created ‘roshi hitpatsel’ (my head splits into two heads), an original song for the film "universes" by joseph dadoune.

in 2004, at the age of 20, riff was invited to paris to perform with joseph dadoune, her pieces were played in variation by emile blondel. that same year she was filmed singing in the film ‘alef’ by Iranian director, barbad golshiri. by the age of 22, riff was actively performing live music.

in 2005 she sang with the modern Israeli band boom pam in tel aviv and was invited to sing with the popular Israeli band ‘balkan beat box’ during their tour in paris and brussels.

in 2006, riff sang at the jerusalem electronic music festival where, through live-response software her voice moved a virtual dancer. she, as well, took part in an artistic project by naama tzabar performed in the hertzelia museum. this exhibition included 24 other musicians, which formed a live statue. riff composed an original song for this event. she soon established a duo with the guitarist uri kinrot. the two performed in various bars in tel aviv and traveled to denmark, performing songs by serge ginsbourg, francoise hardy, rita mitzuko and more.

since 2006, riff is involved in several productions at the ‘tmuna theater’ in tel aviv. she acted and wrote both vocals and instrumentals for the production "fedora's in love", by kain sera and performed in the multi-genres events in the theater.

in 2007 riff performed at the kingdom ceremony awards for plastic artists. she wrote soundtrack for the second film by joseph dadoune ‘zion’ featuring the actress ronit elqabetz, which was screened at the ‘louvre museum’ in paris. collaborated with daniel landou, performed in the show ‘desert blues’ with ravid kahalani songs from morocco, mauritania, africa and played in the group of ariel efraim ashbel live improvisation shows.
